Themes don't show posts in home window
-
I am thinking of changing the theme – however, a lot of themes I tried don’t show my posts in the home window.
I just see little squares where the posts should be.To be more precise – most post are photographs and a head line – the headline usually shows – but a lot of the themes I tried don’t show the photos. (I also installed them and refresh the page a couple of times – and later changed back to the theme I’m using now)
Does anyone know why this happens so I can try another theme?
Thanks and greetings.

This is not a theme related issue.
If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.
Note: If you are using an IE9 browser in compatibility mode that makes it render as IE7 and IE7 is not supported. To disable see > http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html
If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com please do these four things:
1. Try clearing your browser’s cache:

2. Make sure that you have third-party cookies enabled: http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/
3. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.
4. Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

Thank you for your reply.
Actually, I was trying it in the newest browser versions.
I was trying Safari 6.0.4. and Firefox 20.0 – I checked and there don’t seem to be any new (stable) releases. The other things I was trying as well.
The strange thing is, when I see other blogs with the same themes I see all the content – and it is mostly themes for photographs that don’t work.
(For example Hatch, Triton Lite and AutoFocus.)
Other layouts like the one I am using at the moment (Quintus) work fine. Therefore I think maybe there is something in Dashboard I clicked that prevents these themes working with my blog.
Thanks again and greetings,

There’s nothing wrong with your browser or your blog. The themes that have a grid layout instead of the conventional blog layout usually require setting a featured image to each post.
You can read about how each theme works if you visit the Theme Showcase site:

Okay, that was a good tip. I just set a featured image on the latest post and now the themes in question where working.
Thank you very much for the tip!
