Themes – getting them to work
-
I’m having trouble getting pre-made themes to simply work.. I don’t want to have a blog format where it just scrolls through…No matter what theme I use, I can’t get the look I want. All I want is a simple, portfolio site and for my work to be displayed in squares by maybe three or four columns with however many rows. How do I get themes like Eden to do what they show in the demos?

If you want to display your portfolio, rather than update your site with regular blog posts, You will be happier with one of our portfolio themes. Based on your description of what you want, Sketch seems like a good fit. You can see it in action here:

You can learn more about how to make your site look like the demo here.

Note: This theme displays portfolio projects on the front page, rather than posts. You can learn more about how to create those here:

All of the themes have info pages like the one I shared above for Sketch. Here’s the one for Edin:

If you do your theme research from the page linked below, it’s easier to find the info pages.
Sometimes its easier to figure all this stuff out by actually working together on your site, so if the links to general support documents aren’t working for you, let me know and I can give you step by step instructions on setting up your particular site instead.
