Do you have the Premium bundle of upgrades http://store.wordpress.com/plans/premium/ or the Business bundle of upgrades http://store.wordpress.com/plans/business/ that both include the custom design upgrade?
As you did not register your username account prior to September 1st, 2014 and that was the cut-off date for purchasing the custom design upgrade as an individual upgrade, you will have to purchase the Premium bundle to get it.
What I post below applies to all themes free and premium (paid).
If you are into fiddling about with font families, sizes and/or colors on each and every post you make by using the Text editor (HTML editor) then you can change it in the body text in posts and pages. But for changing it in Titles and widget headings you need to purchase an upgrade.
These are 3 ways to change fonts on WordPress.com blogs.
(1) Changing font families, colors and size in text in posts or pages either post by post or page by page by coding into the Text ie. HTML editor. http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/07/11/formatting-text-pt-5/
(2) Changing font colors in text in posts or pages either post by post or page by page using the #4 icon (Select text color – change the text color) in Row 2 the Visual editor. http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#row-2
(3) Changing all font families, colors and sizes throughout the whole blog by purchasing an annually renewable Custom Design upgrade and using Typekit Fonts with Staff support.

No, I don’t have the Premium bundle of the Business bundle. But, if I want to change my colors and text to how I like I need to buy one of them?
And if I don’t upgrade I can use one of those 3 links? -
Wait I think I get it, I need to upgrade to the Premium bundel OR the Business bundle and then I can change/customsize my blog? That’s what you’re saying right? I’m sorry my English is kinda bad

WordPress.com sells bundles upgrades. We can “preview” changes that do not actually display on the blog unless we purchase the upgrade.
Premium bundle of upgrades http://store.wordpress.com/plans/premium/
Business bundle of upgrades http://store.wordpress.com/plans/business/NOTE that both include the custom design upgrade.
If you have not purchased the Premium upgrade note that no changes you try out aside from those such as Custom Background, Custom Header, etc. which are stated on the theme description pages in the features column (right hand side) will be visible to visitors.

http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/editing-css/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/custom-fonts/If you are using the preview mode for the Custom Design upgrade some of the settings in that mode will save but they won’t show up on the front end unless you purchase the upgrade.
To go back to the free options, go to Appearance → Themes → Customize → Colors and click the “exit the preview” link in yellow at the top of the panel on the right.

You can change certain colours like the background without any upgrade. For other types of colour changes, as timethief explained, you’ll need Custom Design, which is part of the Premium and Business plans. Custom Design also includes a set of fonts you can use instead of the default ones, as well as the ability to add your own custom CSS, which lets you customize your site in all kinds of ways.
