Themes page issue

Hey @gemmacevans – don’t know if this is relevant, but while I am still having issues in FF57 loading the Customizer more than once from My Sites, this morning after I had already hit the “Customizing Tools failed to load” message, I followed a link for Featured Content under the Reading Settings in the WP Admin dashboard and the Customizer loaded right up for me.

Just to confirm, this is when accessing the Customizer from Calypso, correct? And when you close the Customizer, are you taken back to the sites list instead of the site you were working on? I’m able to replicate but not consistently, and I can’t figure out what causes the Customizer to fail to load in the first place.

Customizer from Calypso is still not working correctly and after closing it my browser is irresnonsive.
Customizer from wp-admin is working correctly and I’m using it to change themes. -

Ooh, hard to remember what I did on the 19th of November, @kokkieh and this morning after closing the Customizer after it successfully opened and saved, I’m pretty sure I was back in the Calypso Dash on the site I was working on, not the list of My Sites.
I then tried to do something else in the Customizer and got the spinning wheel and finally the “failed to load” message.
After that, I was checking something in WP Admin, saw the link from Reading Settings in WP Admin to manage featured content in the Customizer and the Customizer just opened straight away. No failed message, no timeout.
Sorry I can’t be more accurate than that.

I’ve been able to replicate the issue, but also not consistently. I did provide all the data I could gather and passed it on to our developers, so hopefully they can find the cause.
