Themes suitable for CMS?

    hello,

my impression is that none of the available themes are suitable for use as a CMS, for people who do not want to write a single post, only pages.

Almost all of them either have “garbage” columns that make sense only for normal bloggers, or they have a navigation which duplicates the startpage, so that I have something like “Startpage – About Me – Contact – Startpage” (one of those links is for returning to /, and the other for the startpage that happens to be / because of the startpage setting).

Or did I miss the right theme for this?

One of the lesser evils is “Ocean Mist”. It displays the main navigation (actually pages) correctly, but has things in the right column that can’t be removed.

People use wordpress for normal websites all the time and hiding the duplicate page in the navigation is not a problem.

If you set a static front page under settings > reading, and end up with two start pages, you can hide one of them by making it a child of another page. Once you set a static front page, both of the menu items for “start page” will lead to the page you set as the static front page.

    Hide Pages

    hello,

thanks a lot for your help! I searched for a solution for a long time, but apparently with the wrong keywords. With the technique of hiding pages, several of the given themes are good for pure CMS usage.
