themes that work on both wp.com and wp.org

  Is there a way to know if a theme is made for both wp.com and wp.org ? Thanks.

  WordPress.com and WordPress.org software are different.
  WordPress.com vs WordPress.org

  There are some themes by the same names, however, they are versions which are either coded to run on one software or the other. No free hosted WordPress.com themes and no premium themes purchased from WordPress.com can be exported and used on WordPress.org installs, if that’s what you mean.

  If that’s not what you mean and you want to request that a WordPress.org theme be adapted by the WordPress.com Themes Team so it can be used here at WordPress.com, please see the sticky post at the head of the Themes Forum for how to make that request.

  Hi, timethief,

  Thanks for your response. I am willing to upload and redo for wp.org but wanted to keep things consistent was the basic idea going from one to the other.

  Sounds like there is not a place where that might be listed so it’s ‘trial and error’ searching to find one that is set up for both.
