Themes with fast load speed

Hi, I’m trying to improve load speed for my site. Is there a way to preview typical load speeds for a them, before implementing them? Does anyone know of themes that are good options?
I found a site recommending specific WordPress themes, but none of the theme names have come up in the search bar. So, maybe I should ask does anyone know how to search themes by names, since I clearly don’t? Thanks!

The post on Corlib.com is for self-hosted WordPress sites.
Your site hosted here at WordPress.com uses incredibly fast servers, so site speed isn’t generally an issue. All themes available here have recieved a code audit to make sure that they load quickly.
That said, themes that use large images of part of their design might be marginally slower than those that don’t.

Hi valorappraisals – load speed here on WordPress.com depends a lot on your content rather than the theme. But you’re certainly welcome to check a theme’s demo site if that’s a concern. Just keep in mind that the number of widgets, images, and other content on a page might be different on the demo vs. your own site.
We use techniques like content-delivery networks, caching, concatenation, and minification on WordPress.com to try to reduce load times.
