Pano’s wrote up a detailed post about each themes image width standards… http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/07/23/maximum-image-width/

For ease of comparison, the main column width in the blogspot blog you linked to is 690.

I just set my blog up with “under the influence” …. REALLY LIKE it! BUT…. you knew that was coming! lol the tabs under the header… the first one is just a part of a tab and when you click on it, it comes up error… how can I get rid of that or make it a HOME tab. I don’t see any HOME tab and I liked that with vigilance…
thanks!

The default top nav menu of UTI doesn’t have a built-in Home tab. The blank tab is a page you have deleted. To correct both, go to Appearance>Menus and update your custom menu. (Instructions here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/ )

I wonder what it was, I didn’t delete anything, just activated the new theme… everything is there that I had on Vigilance except the home tab. So I don’t know what to make this partial tab.
-
Ah, now that you mentioned Vigilance, I can tell that the blank tab is a relic of the Vigilance Home tab. But my suggestion stands: to get rid of the defective tab and to create a Home tab, update your custom menu – or create a custom menu, if you aren’t already using one.
-
wish I could just see the html to delete it! My pages were created under another theme originally and then went to tabs when I switched to vigilance…. I’m just afraid if I make another tab, it’s just going to add to the other ones and that partial will still be there. I haven’t used the custom menu.

Even if you could see the HTML, it would not be as simple as “deleting” it. WordPress had no HTML files, it is all PHP script. All the HTML for all everything on your site is dynamically created on the fly.
You can make a custom menu and try it out. If you are not happy, you can just delete or deactivate the custom menu. I always recommend custom menus because that give you maximum control and flexibility.

The whole point of a custom header menu is that it displays only what you tell it to display.

working on a custom one… looks like what I lost was the “about me” page… wonder where it went!
