There are two ways to edit a post. The most convenient doesn't respect tags
-
When I am looking at my posts in myblog.wordpress.com, there is a link at the end of each post to *edit* the post (see image 1).
This option takes me to a URL like: https://wordpress.com/post/53925366/452
The editor in this page looks old and the main problem is that it converts preformatted text (
blocks ) into HTML instead of escaping the text into HTML entities (see image 2). If I click *update*, preformatted code is ruined.
However, there is another way to edit a post, and that is by going to https://myblog.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=452&action=edit
This editor looks good and does not mess up with preformatted text (see image 3). After clicking *update* here, preformatted text remains as preformatted text.
Links to the bad editor are very convenient, and I end up clicking them very often and forgetting my Pre blocks will be ruined.
Is there anything I can do to fix those *edit* links in my blog?
Is that a template issue?
Is that a wordpress.com issue?

The title of the post should be:
There are two ways to edit a post. The most convenient doesn’t respect
tags Or: There are two ways to edit a post. The most convenient doesn't respect < pre > tags
