There has been a critical error on this website

  Help! My website http://www.terrapeninsular.org is not working, when I visit the site it says ‘There has been a critical error on this website’. I can login but I can´t see or edit anything, like setting, pages, media, plugins, etc.

  I’ve accessed the phpMyAdmin and deleted some plugins that I thought could be causing the problem, but it’s still not working. What can I do to fix this?

  Hi there,

  After taking a closer look at your site it appears there was an issue with the progress-bar plugin that was uploaded to your site. I have deactivated it, and this appears to have restored our site and it is functioning correctly as far as I can see.

  Because this is a 3rd party plugin (we’re not connected with the folks that created it) we are not able to determine what the issue is, but I do see that the plugin developer offers support here: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/progress-bar/

  I also see that someone else reported a critical error issue and they are working on a fix here: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/newest-update-gives-critical-error/

  You may wish to follow that forum thread for updates, but I would not reactivate the Progress Bar plugin until you see that a new version is available to update to.

  Our social team let us know that you are also having trouble with reaching the chat option in the Help Center, yes? Are you able to tell us more about that issue and share a screenshot of what you are seeing? This is affecting both chat and email options, yes?

  It looks like you are using Google Chrome as your browser, so with this in mind I would like you to try the clearing your cache and cookies based on the steps google recommends here: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/32050

  Does this allow the support options to load correctly? Or does the problem persist?

  Thank you for your reply! The website is working again.

  I really don’t know what happened, the website was not available between May 17, 2023 at 20:22 and May 18 at 17:05 (PST). The email said “Your server is not responding to our monitoring requests. Your site may have PHP fatal errors, database connectivity issues, or other server-level problems”.

  I tried to reach out for help at the chat and email option in the Help Center, but I had issues for about 9 hours, and I decided to contact you on social media. The support options are now loading correctly.
