I keep getting the error above whenever I try to login or change my password, no matter which browser I try. I really need to update my stuff and WordPress has had this issue for almost a month now. What am I doing wrong?

  • Hi there,

The error you describe indicates that either your theme or a plugin you have installed is breaking your site, and from the sound of it, only the admin area of your site.

To regain access, you’ll need to disable that plugin, either by accessing your site’s database directly, or by temporarily renaming the plugins folder on your server. Access to those are controlled by your hosting provider, so please contact them directly for help.

Once you have access, you can follow the steps here to troubleshoot and get things working again:

    https://wordpress.org/support/article/faq-troubleshooting/

For more advice about this you can ask the WordPress.org community in their forums at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/ – they’re the people who make the version of WordPress you’re using.

While your site is connected to your account with us here on WordPress.com, your site isn’t hosted on our servers, and not using our modified version of WordPress, so we’re not really able to help aside from pointing you to the people and documentation that can :)
