1st problem: Site is loading/running fine BUT I am unable to enter wordpress for editing. I’m getting the ‘Critical Error’ message. I use APLUS.net but they indicated it is a WordPress issue and not a host problem.
2nd problem: unable to log into wordpress account. Usnm/pwd I use to edit my website is not recognized to log into wordpress. My email: (email visible only to moderators and staff)

    WP.com: Unknown
    Jetpack: Unknown
    Correct account: Unknown

  • Hello there,

    Many thanks for reaching out.

Are you able to confirm the URL of the website that you need assistance with please?

    https://lw-aerial.com/
When I attempt to access the site I get the following message:
    — There has been a critical error on this website.
    — Learn more about troubleshooting WordPress.

I did receive an email with a link for admin access, but that link has expired.

Thanks for that. To clarify, there are three different “WordPress” at play here:

    1. The free, open-source WordPress software which powers your website.
    2. WordPress.org which is the open-source project that works on the WordPress software and where you can get the software for free to use on your own hosting provider.
    3. WordPress.com which is a managed hosting provider of the WordPress software and with whom you’re contacting now.

For your site, your login page seems to still be accessible here:

Additionally, I’m not seeing the critical error when pulling up your site at the moment, so either someone fixed the issue or it resolved itself.

In the future, you should reach out to your host for help with this issue. Since they’re hosting your site’s files, they also have access to those files and are the best ones to help you narrow down the problem with your WordPress install.

If you still have trouble or your host refuses to help with software installed on their servers, please reach out to the WordPress community for guidance:

    I hope that helps!

No. The problem still exists. I attempted to log in using the link
    https://lw-aerial.com/wp-login.php

It does not work, I am getting the following message:

    — There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.
    — Learn more about troubleshooting WordPress

One of the original emails contained a link where I could log into “recovery mode”, but it has expired. Can you send another link?

  • We can’t, because the site isn’t hosted here with us, but your site should resend it for you when you try to log in.

Please ask your host for help with the instructions you find. This may help too:

    Hoping this helps!
