  If the site is still up, you might try posting a comment and ask the blog owner to transfer it to you:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account

  Otherwise, your best bet would be to register a different address. You can even register a custom domain (example.com) if you like!
