There is a circle on the left of the title of a posting
-
Posting dispays a circle next to title of the posting. It isn’t disappearing even though I have already posted the entry. The text is displaying as italicized and that is not correct, either. Unsure of what this means. Can’t find anything related to this.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I do not see any circle. http://thisismybipolarlife.wordpress.com/2013/05/09/thats-right-were-gonna-fightthe-world-is-changing/
If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.
Note: If you are using an IE9 browser in compatibility mode that makes it render as IE7 and IE7 is not supported. To disable see > http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html
If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com please do these four things:
1. Try clearing your browser’s cache:

2. Make sure that you have third-party cookies enabled: http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/
3. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.
4. Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/
If it’s still happening, let us know exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://www.whatbrowser.org/ and also post any error reports you get.

You can edit the post and remove the italics.

Thanks for the suggestions. Actually, this is still happening to me. I could show you what the page is doing but can’t attach a file to show you. I know how to edit and post, but this is baffling me.

Please post screenshot, of the circle upload it to your Media Library, and return to this thread to provide the file name so Staff can examine it. I tagged this thread for their assistance. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond.

Hello again. The screenshot is posted as ‘blog problem’ and highlights both the visible circle next to the posting title as well as the italicized text. The italics disappear if you click on the post in the list on the right, but the circle does not.
I am not copying or pasting text (at least, I did not in this instance).
Anything else I can do to assist let me know. Thanks.

See: http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/edit-posts-screen/
Have you edited the posts and switched to the Text (HTML) editor and removed the italics tags?
This is the begin italics tag
<em>
and this is the end italics tag -
-
The only italic tag I could find was on a word that I had manually italicized during the word entry.
-
Switch to the Text (HTML) editor. Investigate the code and insert the close italics tag after the single word you want in italics.
</em>
Then click “update” in the Publish module. -
-
Should I delete the post and re-key it again? I’d rather not but if there’s no other solution I will do this.
Just FYI, I’m not too comfortable with HTML editing so maybe this is a better approach.
-
I would not delete it. I would stop posting here and wait patiently for Staff to address the issues. Staff deal with threads tagged for their attention like this one, support tickets and email by addressing those with the earliest date and timestamps first and move forward. Please subscribe to this thread so you are notified when they respond.

Hello,
The circle that you are seeing on your post appears on your theme based on the post format of “aside”.
If you change your post format to “standard”, the circle should be removed: http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-formats/
Please let me know if there is anything else that I can do to help.
-
thanks – I see how this works with new posts, but how can I change my existing post? I don’t see how to do it (forgive my ignorance but I just can’t seem to get it).
-
-
Edit the post and look in the far right hand column under the post attributes box for post formats. Choose “standard”. Then click “save changes”.
