There is no edit on Gallery block

I can see with ftp that there are 3 jpeg files of different sizes in uploads, but only one entry in the image library. I’m making a Gallery with many differently sized images and I see that it is using the large jpg with something like class=’wp-image-698′. Is that just making the image look smaller, or is it causing it to select the smaller file? I’m concerned that if it is loading the larger image then once I have a lot of images the page is going to take a long time to load.

Sorry, I changed this to ‘resolved’ since it had a totally misleading subject. Plus, I’m now using a plugin and that seems to be helping and I think I’m in the wrong forum anyway, but thanks for the quick response.
