There is no way to change the nameservers where I registered my domain
-
I’ve written quite a few times in the past two weeks. Any follow up answers are not getting through. the header is there but the mail itself is blank. What to do? If you answer this I wont know. What if you were to just send me a regular email instead of a reply. I’ve searched how to fix this and I’m not sure if I had any success. Or how do you find your previous questions? They must be listed somewhere.
I’ve been trying to get my domain mapped to here. There is no way I can change the name servers at blog.com. I did, after multiple attempts of filling out a request, got a reply from them. It is a transfer domain authorization code. [redacted] What do I do with that?? From what I read I needed to change the nameservers because of email? I don’t have any email from the site. Can’t I just use the same email here for future email? Ive paid the $13. I can’t change the nameservers and I can’ t ask blog.com any questions.
What to do?This has been such a mess. I can’t depend on Blog.com to stay up. They went down again since the last forum question. Once it went down for 5 days. If I can have my blog come from here then it won’t be affected if blog.com goes down?
I’ve been reading about having a sub domain. would that be easier to do? I know it’s all in english but sometimes it just twists my brain trying to figure out computer stuff.

Hi there,
I’m sorry you haven’t resolved this issue yet.
According to a WHOIS lookup for mynameisjamie.net
http://who.is/whois/mynameisjamie.netYour domain registrar is https://www.rrpproxy.net/ . It looks like that is a reseller, so it’s possible you actually registered your domain through an intermediary (possibly blog.com), but rrpproxy.net is responsible for the domain.
You should be able to update name servers (or at the very least, A records) as that’s basically all you do with a domain registrar is update the records to point to your hosting provider. Their contact info is at http://www.key-systems.net/en/contact/
If their only solution is for you to transfer your domain, you will need to find a new registrar as WordPress.com cannot accept incoming domain transfers. GoDaddy and Namecheap are a couple of examples, but there are many others. You can set up an account with them and then you use the authorization code to confirm that you want to transfer the domain registration from rrpproxy.net to your new registrar. Once that’s done, you can then update the name servers there.
I understand that this can be a frustrating and confusing process, so I would encourage you to reach out to the support at rrpproxy.net as well as support at your new registrar, and they should be able to help you make this change.
Please note that until you can change your name servers at whichever registrar you’re using, we cannot assist you with this process as we have no access whatsoever to your actual domain registration. To that end, it would be best not to open any additional support requests here until you’ve been able to resolve it on your end. If you have further questions along the way, I’d be happy to continue assisting you in this thread.
