    Hi jamesrmarriottgmailcom,

    I noticed the account you are contacting us from is an Editor on robthomas-analysis.com and therefore doesn’t have the permissions need to export content.

    What is the username of the account you are logged in to when this error message appears? You can double check that on the My Profile page. Please reply from that account and I’ll be happy to take a closer look at what is happening with the export.

    That was the problem. Wrong account. Fixed now.

    Still would have been helpful if wordpress provided a ‘not authorised to perform this account with this account’ or something … rather than a general error message!

    Great news, I’m glad to hear you’re all set now. I agree with you about the error message so I’ll pass this feedback on to our developers.

    One other thing — I checked your jamesrmarriottgmailcom account from my side and I’m not seeing an option to export from the new interface at My Site > Tools > Export (with Editor privileges). Were you using the WP Admin dashboard instead?
