theres a b log with the name I want to use…

  Hi –

  I want to start a new blog but the name I have is already ‘being’ used.

  Well, its got one entry back in 2008 and as far as I can tell, is not being used.

  How can I use the name I want?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  You could try to contact the owner of the blog to see if they are willing to transfer the name to you. WordPress won’t take the name from a user by decree. Also keep in mind that the blogger in question might be using the name for an Askimet key or in order to be a user on another account or have moved his blog to another host and wouldn’t want someone else re-using his name.

  Otherwise, you’ll have to think of some variation of the name.

  thanks 1tess – I will try and contact them. All they’ve completed is the ‘about’ page which stated how much they were looking forward to blogging and there’s nothing since which is a little frustrating!

  Understandable. That’s how I ended up with a “1” in front of my name…
