Staff is looking at these forums for such problems as you are having. I will modlook this thread so they will notice it.

You could also send an email [email protected]
    support at wordpress.com

Well – without the domain name you registered and the base blog you are trying to map it to your rant does no good at all.

If you post the domain name you registered and the blog you are trying to map it to maybe someone here can help.

Keep in mind also that it can take 24 to 72 hours for changes to migrate to the far corners of the internet.

It’s unfortuneate that I should have to leave an insulting post to get any attention. After two days of frustration dealing with a problem that I did not create and therefore can do nothing to correct, I suppose my belief in human nature has once again been confirmed. These people suck! Intentional or not causing a problem for someone and doing nothing to correct it is no different than intentionally hurting someone. And I did try the conventional methods of [email protected]. That is how I know that no one is there to help. Sorry about my frustration but this should have been easier than this.

    Please…..

Do as @auxclass says and give us a link to the site here and the domain name you are trying to map and we will try and help. Without that information, we are roaming around with our eyes closed in the dark.

  • http://sonofthepoet.com/ appears to be working properly.

It can take domain changes up to 72 hours (though usually much less) to propagate to your ISP. Unfortunately, we have no control over this as it all depends on how often your ISP refreshes their DNS cache.

Thank you for your responses. I am sorry that I had to use a negative statement to get responces to my original inquireries. I had receiveed two different time periods as to when the mapping would occur. My biggest concern was that there was a landing page with my web address. This may be a way that wordpress raises a bit more money but I would have like to know. Everything is fine now. Thanks again.

    For future reference:

WordPress.com does not create any landing pages like that. It looks like you registered that domain on Namecheap; they, as well as most other registrars, will place a landing page with ads on the domain until you point it at your own (or in this case, WordPress.com’s) server. You saw that ad filled landing page because your DNS changes hadn’t propagated yet. The domain mapping on WordPress.com’s side is immediate, but DNS propagation can take up to 3 days.

I imagine you would have received these same responses regardless of how (im)politely you asked.
