TheStyle repeats my posts
-
Firstly, when navigating to my blog, only 6 or 7 posts show up. If you begin to scroll, the entire list populates. A short way down the page, some of my posts start to repeat. What is causing this and how can I fix it? It didn’t do this before.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Have you marked any of your posts as “sticky”? See this note from the thestyle support page:
The large thumbnail featured posts on the top of the homepage are “sticky posts.” When you make a post “sticky,” it gets displayed on the top of the homepage in an increased size. This is a great way to feature your favorite articles. To make a post a sticky post, click Posts > All Posts link within your WordPress Dashboard and locate the post that you would like to feature. Click the “Quick Edit” button for your desired post and check the “Make this post sticky” box and then click “Update.”

Secondly, if you would like to turn off the “posts appear when you scroll” function (called infinite scroll) please read this page:

None of those really helped me with the repeating of my posts. If you look at my actual blog and the individual posts, when they are fully populated, items on the 4th line start to be repeated, e.g. there are more than one of them posted. To use a specific example, “Honey Wheat Rolls” show up on both the 4th and 5th lines, even though they are the same exact post. How do I make that not happen?
-
So, I am not seeing honey wheat rolls repeat (or any repeating posts).
Can you try two things for me?
1. Hold down the shift key and click refresh/reload.
And if that doesn’t fix things:
2. Tell me if you see the issue in a different browser and/or on a different computer.
-
Shift-Refresh didn’t do anything, and viewing this on a different computer shows the repeated posts as well. Both computers are using Firefox. I checked on the different computer using IE, as well, and it still shows up as repeating posts.
-
How very frustrating. I cannot reproduce this error at all on any of my browsers. I am going to have to get some other people to look at this.
Just for clarification (since I cannot see it myself) what other posts are you seeing repeated aside form the Honey Rolls?
Sidenote: Your blog has now made me really hungry. I think I had best go find some breakfast.
-
The ones that are repeats are:
Sweet Dahlia Baking, Bainbridge Island
Honey Wheat Rolls
Enchilada Sauce
Red Bell Pepper and Chèvre Alfredo
Honey Beer Chicken -
I’m using Firefox 25 and I cannot see duplicates that you list above. Will please work through this with us so we can find out why you are seeing duplicate posts and we aren’t?
1. If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.
2. If you are using an IE browser in compatibility mode please disable that mode. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html

(a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.
(b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://www.whatbrowser.org/
(c) And what any error reports you receive state. -
I have run this by a number of other people here at WordPress.com and none of us are able to reproduce the issue. So, my suggestion would be to work through Timethief’s post and see if any of those help.
If you get a chance, could you take a screenshot showing the doubles?
Here are some screenshot instructions if you are not familiar with the process:
I find http://snag.gy/ to be very useful for sharing screenshots. You can also upload the screenshot to your site’s media library. I will be able to see it there.

Finally got a minute to go through timethief’s suggestions and got as far as 3a. I had some issues with viewing my blog the proper way; somehow deleting the cache made it revert to a default view, which isn’t what I wanted. After some tinkering and getting it back to ‘normal’, I now see that there are zero repeats. Which makes me a happy camper.
Out of curiosity – I had been running the most recent version of Firefox, so no update was needed there, and deleting the cache was the only other thing I did. What part of having a full cache, versus an empty, would make it start repeating?
-
Caches are useful and frustrating things. The non technical explanation is that, sometimes they just get messed up and cause issues.
