Thickbox
-
I am wondering how does one use Thickbox on the blogs?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can’t do it directly, but the socialvibe widget has the thickbox code built into it, so if you add the socialvibe widget to your sidebar, then you can include
class="thickbox"in your image HTML and it will give you the thickbox effect.

Here is a tutorial that one of the volunteers here did.

There have been problems with thickbox for readers who are not logged in to WordPress.com:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/thickbox-issues-new-windows-opening-instead?replies=19#post-466192Unless there have been changes since last June, non-logged in readers see the image load for a second, then it disappears.

Oops: The images don’t disappear: they open in a new browser window just as it you had used target:blank in the image link…

I sure wish they would add a thickbox type of image viewer here. It could be an option either at settings > media.
