things should change

    Hello

I do know the system, and do know how this works but to be honest things ain’t perfect. I would to make myself a new blow, tried 10 different names (all were taken ofcourse) by people who started the blog 4 years ago and did not make a single post.

Is there something that will be done about this? or will we all in a couple of years have to make wordpress blogs like edrush000128.wordpress.com?
Cmon, if people don’t use a blog for 3 years, the name should be deleted, simple as that.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It’s to prevent people hijacking blog names.

Yes its annoying, but nothing can or will be done about it :/.

    absurd, that’s what it is.

come on, it has to change one day right?
I’m sure they must have considered by now

‘THEY’ have considered it before now.
It may not make sense to you, but remember, you are wanting to take advantage of a ‘free’ service. In doing that, you are accepting that you will use whatever is offered for free.

If you want something different then go to another free provider or pay someone to host your own site. Most providers you would pay for don’t have the same restrictions as the free service from WordPress.

But remember, you will then be the one who must fix everything and anything that goes wrong.

Here are pros and cons between using the free wp service and using the paid hosting when using the free wp blogging software:

There are also a number of other blogging software packages you can easily find online.

If this were your candy store, what would you offer to people for no charge???

@edrush, let’s say you have a very popular blog about christianity and you called it edrush.wordpress.com. Now let’s say that a couple years down the road you get rid of that .COM hosted blog and start a self-hosted blog with edrush.com as the URL.

Now let’s say someone comes along and takes edrush.wordpress.COM after you have deleted it and turns it into some sort of porno site and everyone starts coming back to you and thinking you are responsible.

NO. It should not change, I think. This to prevent identity fraud and scams. I opened my blog in 2007 and the first post I posted was in December 2009. A lot of people out there have the identical situation to myself. I didn’t have time and I wasn’t sure how to start blogging and what to write about. This is a FREE service. If you want something personal and customisable why don’t you try wordpress.org.
    Thanks,
