Things that need to be addressed
-
Hi WordPress,
I am hosted on WordPress.com and I would like to make a few suggestions that would vastly improve my abilities as Administator for my site.
1. When adding other users I should have total control over that. I add the user via their e-mail and they should automatically be added to my site without the
invitation. Not sure how you could work that, but something to think about. I should also have control over the password and usernames or at least be
advised what they are2. When a user is added then my settings for the blog should be the ones used. The user should not be able to set up to publish articles to any site other than
the ones I have outlined in the blog’s settings. For example: When I set the blog to tweet to my Twitter then all users should be under that restriction. As it
stand right now I have to have them send me their password and username so I can log in to set up their articles to tweet to my Twitter. That should not have
to happen. They should fall under my default settings.3. By being hosted on WordPress.com I do not have the ability to embed videos using HTML. This has never have worked and I lose tons of news because of it.
We have discussed this before and this need to have something done with it.Other than these few simple things at the moment, I am thoroughly happy with WordPress.com. My site is doing good and averageing nearly 50,000 hits a month and growing. Your support dept.has always helped me when I had an issue and are very expedient and nice.
Thank you,

Just a few quick opinions:
1. I don’t think this is ever likely to happen. There should always be an opt-in rather than a forced sign up to become an editor of a blog. You should not have access to other user’s passwords as they may have their own private blogs set up on the same account and this would lead to security issues.
2. A user will still be able to publish to other blogs that they have set up or become an editor/contributor of. I don’t think this will change. The twitter issues does sound like something that could be looked into though. It would save the other people in your position a lot of time.
3. You can upload video to your wordpress site if you pay for the upgrade that allows you to do so. Otherwise you can use shortcodes to embed video hosted elsewhere. Vimeo and youtube being two that spring immediately to mind.
As you can see, the video issue is easy to solve and I hope it helps with your site.
