Thinking of moving my blog to wp.com. Have a 'Reader qn' tho

    Hi guys,

I have had blogs on wp.com for about 4 years or so but none were ever the ‘day job’. About 5 mths ago I decided to go and get all grown up and set up one on wp.org. I wanted to have a very specific look and feel for a Lifestyle & Travel blog I wanted to start. You can view it here > http://www.thirtysummers.com/

It’s gone quite well in the five or so months that it’s been up. I’m really happy with the content & have a great writing team. But I miss the ‘community’ aspect of wp.com.

So my question is about your opinion on the wp.com Reader. This really is one of the key reasons that I am thinking about coming back over. Do folks actually click thru off the reader or stay and just ‘like’ in the Reader feed. I was noticing when I was blogging here that I would not struggle to get ‘likes’ but I did struggle getting click throughs. (I also tried the tactic of limiting what could be viewed in the Reader)

I did exactly the same thing. I would ‘like’ people’s posts in the Reader but hardly ever click on through.

What have you found/ what do you do? I think there was some fundamental changes to the Reader a couple of years ago that seemed to see more folks stay there rather than click through? (Maybe wrong about that)

Anyway, just interested in your thoughts and what you think. I haven’t made up my mind either way.

    Cheers Saxter
