third level domain

hi, i’d like to add a WP blog as 3rd level domain of my website, e.g. blog.mysite.com
mi question is: i’d like to add facebook and google analytics pixels in my blog post pages. also, i’d like to add a pop up when people are leaving, saying to subscribe to my mailing list. is it possible with wordpress.com (by upgrading of course), or do I have to use wordpress.org?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

First, to connect a subdomain like blog.mysite.com to your site, you’ll need to have one of our paid plans, which will allow you to add the domain mapping upgrade:

    Map a Subdomain

We only have limited support for the Facebook pixel. That pixel is added using JavaScript which we don’t allow on WordPress.com, so you can only use the noscript part of the pixel code. Add that in a text widget in your site’s footer, or any other widget area that’s visible on all pages on your site, and it should work.

Google Analytics is only available on the WordPress.com Business Plan.

    Google Analytics

We offer a MailChimp pop-up subscription form that appears when someone opens your site. You can find info on how to use that here:

    MailChimp

For a pop-up when someone tries to close your site you’ll need a plugin instead. Plugins can be installed on the Business Plan only, but if you have the Business Plan with a plugin installed, you’ll also be able to add the complete Facebook Pixel code.

If the Business Plan is too expensive, you’ll need a self-hosted site instead if you want to use plugins and/or JavaScript code.

Let me know if you have any questions about this.
