I got that far, but when entering in the codes that open x-change thru namecheap (where my domain is registered) gave me, I’m still not able to send and receive mail.
-
Then post the code here and maybe someone can see the problems –
be sure to use the “code” box notation (at the top of the reply box) to keep the formatting and to make sure things are not changed
Just saying “it’s broken” is not much for us to help you with

in regards to records, what do these things mean?
MX <pref> <host>
TXT <text>
CNAME <subdomain> <host>what is “pref”?
what is “host”?
what is “subdomain”? -
this is what open x-change wants typed in:
MX oxmail.registrar-servers.com
CNAME oxwebmail.registrar-servers.com
TXT v=spf1 include:ox.registrar-servers.com ip4:64.22.89.133 ip4:64.22.89.134 -all
