Third-Party Domain Name – DNS?

  I purchased a domain name (montegarrett.com) purchased through websitespot.com a few days ago. I have begun creating a website through WordPress (montegarrett.wordpress.com) and am trying to map (not sure if that’s the right word) the two. I’ve probably bitten off more than I can chew, but would appreciate any assistance.

  Hi there,

  No worries at all! You are correct in that you just need to map it! It looks like your domain is not pointing to WordPress.com name servers yet:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-helper/?host=montegarrett.com

  Please go to your domain registrar’s site and log into the control panel. You will need to update the name servers as below:

  NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
  NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
  NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

  Once it’s set up, give it some time to propagate and you should be all set!
