    Hello there,

    So I went to buy a username domain only as I thought I didn’t need the plan. Then once I’d bought it, I realised that it doesn’t change the name people will see on my site. So I cancelled it in mind of just buying a monthly package.

    So, can someone please help me to get back my original domain name ‘ogoodproductions.com’ please so I can purchase that domain (which is no longer available due to being mapped to a site? My site?) and an upgrade plan?

    So currently it is now ‘ogoodproductionsuk.wordpress.com’ – I need ‘ogoodproductions.wordpress.com’.

    Do you wish to use only ogoodproductions.wordpress.com and not ogoodproductions.com?

    Hi there,

    I would like to buy the name ‘ogoodproductions.com’ but it won’t let me buy it and say’s that ‘This domain is already mapped to a WordPress.com site.’

    This is because I went to buy the domain to add to my current site which is ‘https://ogoodproductionsuk.wordpress.com/’

    I want to buy ‘ogoodproductions.com’ (which is locked to where I cancelled the payment as I wanted the full upgrade) and use it rather than ‘https://ogoodproductionsuk.wordpress.com’.

    This is very tricky to explain. Sorry.

    Okay, I think I see what happened here.
    The domain ogoodproductions.com has been canceled, but we are still on time to get it back. We’ll just need you to pay the registration fee (since a refund was already processed).

    Now, if you were interested in a yearly plan subscription, just go ahead, purchase the desired plan (do not register any custom domain), and let us know here, and we’ll restore the domain back to your site.

    If you want to get a monthly subscription instead (the domain price is not included in those), we will email you an invoice for the domain registration. Once paid, we’ll restore the domain to your account.

    Hang on I am getting confused now.

    I am interested in buying a year plan for £36. At the moment, there is an offer on where if you buy that package, then you get the free domain of your choice on top as a bonus.

    Last night, I bought just the domain name ‘ogoodproductions.com’. What I didn’t realise is that buying that does not mean wordpress will display that on the website when people visit, unless you have the £36 plan on top.

    So rather than spending £51 in total by then adding the plan AFTER I bought the domain, I thought I would cancel it – save £15 and buy the plan so I get the Domain I wanted for free and the plan that would actually display the domain I just bought.

    So, this is getting even more confusing for everyone involved. I want to buy a plan for £36 that includes the domain I need which is ogoodproductions.com.

    Is this a bit clearer in explanation?

    Exactly. If you purchase the £36 annual plan, we will be able to reactivate the domain under that plan since the domain comes free with the annual plan for the first year.

    Perfect!

    I’ve just restored that domain for you and you should see it active on your site.

    The domain registration is free for the first year, and after that it would become a separate purchase.
