    Hi There,

    I am setting up a wordpress website for my friend who owns totalqualityclean.com.au – however when I went to map to the domain she already owns through westnet.com.au it comes up with “This domain is already mapped to a WordPress.com site” – when I type http://www.totalqualityclean.com.au into google – it then comes up with an iinet site?

    Can someone please help me?

    Hi @totalqualitycleancomau, that domain does indeed have a mapping upgrade pointed to a different WordPress.com site, though I can see the name servers have the domain pointed elsewhere.

    Is there any chance your friend tried setting up a site here previously under a different account?

    Yes it is possible as her son had attempted to start a wordpress website but she doesn’t know what he would of signed up as etc is there a way to find that info?

    I see that your reply is recent but we helped you sometime last month, yes?

    I’m not sure what @supernovia was seeing at that time, but I can confirm that http://totalqualityclean.com.au/ is no longer mapped to WordPress.com.

    When I look in the domain WHOIS settings, I see it is now pointing traffic to iinet web hosting. I also see this when I visit totalqualityclean.com.au directly.

    For ongoing help you will want to reach out to iinet directly now that they host traffic from totalqualityclean.com.au

    Thankyou. I was seeing that too – oddly they haven’t had anything to do with iinet so not sure why that has even happened. I will get her to contact them direct and find out. Thanks

    Hi there,

    I hate to contradict one of my colleagues, but this domain is mapped to a WordPress.com site. It’s just not pointed to us.

    In other words, even though the domain is currently pointed at the hosting provider, https://www.iinet.net.au/ (the registrar where the domain is registered is https://www.westnet.com.au/), there exists a domain mapping upgrade for that domain on WordPress.com already. That upgrade belongs to a different WordPress.com username account, and as long as that mapping upgrade continues to exist, you won’t be able to map this domain to any other site.

    I don’t see any sites in the account you used to create this thread. What is the URL of the WordPress.com site to which you want to map this domain? Is it a site in another account, or are you planning to use this totalqualitycleancomau account to still create the site?

    Then it is possible her son did open a wordpress and begin the process of creating a wordpress website. Yes we want to use totalqualityclean.com.au – but how do we find out what log in details were used?
