  My son gave me this domain as a gift. He paid the first year but forgot to pay the second year. I need to retrieve it and get ownership. Please help.

  That domain appears to be available so upgrade your free site to a paid plan to register it.

  The good news is that the domain can now be registered again as brand new. You need to act fast before a domain squatter or another person registers it, though. If that happens you’ll miss out on using it.

  Go to https://wordpress.com/pricing/
  – add the personal hosting plan to your account.

  Once that’s been done, you can register the domain as your own from your WordPress.com account. Click on this link:
