It is normal for posts to appear in reverse chronological order with the newest one being the first post that visitors see. Imagine the problems if you had 1000 posts and people had to scroll through many years worth of stuff to find out what you were writing about this week. However things can be changed if necessary. Hi,

how do i change the order that the posts appear in? is the oldest one always at the bottom?

WordPress.com sites display posts in reverse chronological order by default. You can change the order in which posts display on the posts page by editing the published dates and times.

See the Alter the Publish Date section of the Show your Posts in Chronological Order support page. The other suggestions in that support page are workarounds which do not change the order of posts on the posts page.

and why does my third post, show up as my first post?

Your August 26 post titled “In the beginning…” is an excerpt version of the August 24 post of the same title. Did you not publish them separately?
