this is not my website

    I have a major issue.This would be much better explained by phone but it doesnt seem like wordpress has a help phone line which is a bit frustrating.
    I was creating a blog post last night and went to sleep so the session timed out. i was prompted to log back in but it kept saying incorrect password, although, I had just created it yesterday and know with 100% certainty i was typing it correctly. It kept failing so i created a new password using my email to reset it and reset it with the same password i was typing in.
    This then logged me in to a site that is not mine. Stringdance is not my blog, yet it is showing that my full name and email are linked to this. I have no idea what is happening. Where is my blog?

    Hi there,

    Can you tell us the URL of the site you’re trying to access?

    You’re posting here as the WordPress.com username account, stringdance, and this account owns one site, https://stringdance.wordpress.com/. Both this account and site were created in 2009, but you haven’t logged into this account or made any changes to that site in 13 years.

    I’m guessing you have another site, using the open source version of WordPress at another hosting provider, and you probably used the same email address for the admin account on that site as you used for this WordPress.com account years ago. Such a self-hosted WordPress site won’t have any connection at all to your WordPress.com username account.

    In that case, you’ll instead want to go to the page at “yourdomain”/wp-login.php, and log into your admin user account there.
