I intended to create a wordpress hosted site to my own domain. Yet I seem to have a free wordpress site with my.com domain as .com.wordpress.com! Not what I wanted at all and I would like deleted!

Oh I see, you want to host your own domain here? If so here’s how:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/Basically you will add a plan and add your domain, and then that will replace the free address.

yes I know that – I thought that was what I was signing up to in fact I believe I clicked on that and why the address comwordpress.com. happened seems strange. when I asked on forum immediately about deleting it at once a string appeared led by a Chauhan who has been a problem locally with my current site! Most strange.
This string was time and date in the moment.Thank you – although when I before hand went to en.support.wordpress.com/com -vs -org it came up on Firefox as unsecure.
I wondered if WP gives everyone a default free site in the first instance
Its all been unexpected but thanks for the reply and hopefully I can salvage my domain – my name!

and no I don’t want to keep it with my current host as I say I want a WordPress hosted site at my URL so I want to transfer it over not change the name server to point to WordPress or is the only way to do it?

When i went back to en.support.wordpress.com/com – vs – org given in a previous webinair the site came up in Firefox as unsecured so I couldnt do the research i wanted. However i went on to try to sign up to Premium plan as it said I could migrate my domain to be hosted by WP. Despite this when I clicked on the link and input my domain into the space (where there were no given suffix) i was given a free site at my domain comwordpress.com. I knew there would be a transference process but the wording assured WP would take care of transfering my domain from my prior host. I then wanted as a first response to delete this new free site and when i looked at the support forum there was one created immediately on deleting a site led by a Chauhan which is the name someone causing problems with my site hosting locally. All very strange. I asked if its usual to give a free site but surely many want their owned domain and I did click on Premium, havent had a reply. All a bit disconcerting and off – putting. The webinairs appear so inclusive and transparent which has been my understanding of WP but this experience has been quite unnerving, to me anyway. I’m saying this here as its difficult to say it otherwise

Do you have an existing domain and site and you want them moved here on WordPress.com?
