"this is the excerpt from your very first post" shows up in shared FB posts
-
Trying desperately to remove the text, “this is the excerpt from your very first post”, from my WP Cubic Theme blog posts when I share them on FB.
I replaced the dummy excerpt text, “this is the excerpt from your very first post”, with my own text last week, and it still shows up immediately under the Blog Post Title and Image when I share the post.
I have tried toggling the “excerpt” menu on and off under Screen Options, but no dice.
This dummy text must be hidden in metadata or course code somewhere, but I do not have access to the source code.
Any help would be MUCH appreciated!
Gracias in advance! :)

Hi, I’m not seeing that text on any of your posts. Did you get this issue resolved?
I have tried toggling the “excerpt” menu on and off under Screen Options, but no dice.
Screen options allow you to control what shows up for you in the page or post editor. It does not control what shows up on the actual site.
What you will need to do for Facebook, is to use the Facebook Debug feature and “re-scrape” that particular post. Facebook caches things and re-scraping that particular post will clear their cache and they will get he new information from your site.
