'this is the excerpt from your very first post' shows up on my posts shared on FB

    In the Cubic Theme, for the last week, I’ve been trying to remove the dummy text, ‘this is the excerpt from your very first post’, which I assumed was in the excerpt field. After toggling the excerpt view on and off, and checking the excerpt field on and off under ‘screen options’in both home menu and individual blog posts, I have no idea what to do.

    I don’t have access to source code or meta-data, so I can’t see where this text actually is.

  • Hi there,

    You’re seeing that preview, because Facebook has it cached on their end. Facebook saves preview data from your site when you share a post, so it doesn’t need to fetch the data again every time someone else shares the same post. But sometimes that cached data becomes stuck and they start using it for everything on your site.

    You can use this tool to clear Facebook’s cache for links on your site, and then it should fetch a new preview for new posts:
