2 days ago i submitted a support request stating my website is down because of the wordpress update. it read; “the new wordpress was updating (i think) & the internet window shut down. there is now an error message; Fatal error: Cannot redeclare wp_convert_bytes_to_hr() (previously declared in D:Hosting10526198htmlwp-includesdeprecated.php:3364) in D:Hosting10526198htmlwp-includesmedia.php on line 1146. cheers, marc”. i have had no response. none. which means my website is completely down & wordpress provides NO SUPPORT. i don’t know if you are wordpress.com or wordpress.org – because i can’t get into my website to check!! if this request for support is not (at least) responded to in a short while i will have to consider alternative options to wordpress. this is the second time the website has been down for an extended period of time well within 12 months and your support is a forum entry when i am in a different time zone to most of your other clients? a very poor management decision

We do not provide support at WordPress.COM for any installs of WordPress.ORG software. We provide support only for free hosted WordPress.COM blogs being hosted right here on this multiuser blogging platform.
WordPress.com and WordPress.org have different log-ins and run different versions of themes with same names.

P.S. Here’s a hint. You pay for web hosting, hence you know exactly who you pay to keep your site online, and that’s the “tree” you ought to be barking up when your site is not online.

thank you for help timethief about the .org .com thing. but i do hope there is more support than a community. i have contacted my host, but apparently the wordpress upgrade was not compatible with wordpress plug-ins, so it is a wordpress thing. cheers

This is WordPress.COM and we cannot help you as we run on different software. Is that clear to you?
