"This site cannot be accessed"
-
Hi,
This weekend, our blog (http://blogs.harvard.edu/nplblog/) disappeared. When someone types in the URL, they are greeted with an error message saying “this site has been archived or suspended.” When I login to my wordpress account, on the top left hand corner, the blog has a red exclamation mark next to it; when I click the mark, it says the site “cannot be accessed.”
What can I do to fix this? I really doubt the blog has been suspended because I cannot see how we may have violated the terms of service.
I read somewhere that the Jetpack pluggin may be causing this problem? Is that true?
Thanks for any advice!

Others are in the Jetpack support forum at WordPress.org

We do not provide support for local installs of WordPress.ORG software, or for WordPress.ORG software installs on paid hosting, linked to WordPress.COM accounts with the Jetpack plugin so they display on the My Sites WordPress.COM account page.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Hi there,
The site, http://blogs.harvard.edu/nplblog, is not hosted on our servers and we did not suspend it. If it’s suspended, that was done by the hosting provider, and you’ll need to contact them for help. That site loads fine for me, though.
The red exclamation mark you see in the WordPress.com dashboard is to indicate that we cannot detect the Jetpack plugin – Jetpack is the plugin that allows you to manage that site via your WordPress.com account, but you can only do that if the site is active and the Jetpack plugin properly connected. So that exclamation mark means we cannot detect the Jetpack plugin on the site, either because there’s a problem with the plugin or with the site itself.
According to Jetpack’s debugger that plugin is disconnected:
If you can access the site again you should be able to reconnect it by logging into the WP-Admin dahsboard and clicking on Jetpack. Else you can reach Jetpack support here:

I have the same problem with my blog right now (http://www.etkatteliv.no/), and I don’t know what to do!?!! When I’m logged in to my wordpress account, I see the message “this site cannot be accessed”. And no one else can see my website as well. It’s just white with the message “This page does not work”.

Please do not post into old threads created by other users. If you need help you can start your own thread here:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/?new=1
That said, your site is not hosted with us, so we have no way to help you with this. You need to contact your hosting provider, as the problem is on their end.

Did you figure out what happened, pgoold? Same thing has happened to me (for second time) at blogs.harvard.edu even after I set up my blogs back up from scratch.

As already mentioned in this thread, we are not able to help with blogs at http://blogs.harvard.edu/, as those are not hosted on our servers. Please contact the system admins or the IT department at Harvard, as this looks like a custom multisite setup on their own servers, so the people running that setup are the only ones that will be able to help you with this.
