Whenever we try to load our WordPress website, I get a message that says “This site can’t provide a secure connection,” and we cannot access the page.

I did not create the site, but I do manage it (now), and I need help to resolve this issue.

Hi! The website you are referring is not hosted in WordPress.com but with an external hosting provider. You can refer to WordPress.com vs WordPress.org for more details.

You can contact your hosting provider for help and refer a possible SSL issue.

You can also try to put your request in the WordPress.org forum.

    I hope that helps!

    Hello there,

I’ve rechecked your site, and as @pabloh58 mentioned, it’s not hosted on WordPress.com. You can verify the current hosting details here: https://wordpress.com/site-profiler/aggiecentral.com.

I understand this can be a bit confusing, so let me explain.

WordPress.com is a hosted platform where we take care of security, updates, and site maintenance, so you can focus on creating content. I’m a Happiness Engineer here at WordPress.com, ready to assist with any questions.

On the other hand, WordPress.org is self-hosted, meaning you purchase hosting from a provider (like Amazon, where your site is currently hosted) and manage your site’s security, updates, and maintenance yourself.

You can learn more about the differences here: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/.

Since your site is self-hosted, I recommend contacting your current hosting provider for assistance, as they’ll be able to help with any hosting-related issues.

If you’re interested in hosting your site with WordPress.com, which provides reliable, hassle-free hosting, you can explore our plans here: https://wordpress.com/hosting. We’d also be happy to help you migrate your site to our servers and provide full support whenever needed.

We currently offer a migration service, usually priced at $500, for free to a limited number of users. Would you like to speak with our migration team about this opportunity?
