this site is doing all kinds of STRANGE things now, it is no longer showing the full image that I am adding, and if I want to blow face text, it only does a little piece of it at a time instead of all of what it highlighted.

When making a screen recording in QuickTime, you’ll find a traditional stop button in the macOS menu bar at the very top of the screen.
-
There is absolutely NOTHING ANYWHERE in Ouick Time’s Menu bar that says STOP, the menu bar appears at the BOTTOM of the screen, and when I push RECORD it Disappears.
nothing else can be done in Quick time from that point on -
Hi,
It’s expected that the button where you press Record disappears. The stop icon shows up in the menu bar across the top. It doesn’t say stop, it’s just an icon. Have you visited this link we shared earlier? https://support.apple.com/en-md/guide/quicktime-player/qtp97b08e666/mac
It shows what the icon looks like in the menu bar that you need to click in order to stop recording.
Can you try that again and once the video file is saved on your computer, upload it to your media library so that we can look at it?
Thanks!

Yes, I’ve gone over that MANY times already IT DOES NOT WORK FOR ME, “AT ALL” as I have already stated several times, the bar and icons “DISAPPEAR” once I press record.
Instead I did it a different way and recorded it with my phone from my laptop, take a look, it’s doing EXACTLY what I have been saying it’s doing, this one only took 2 tries, sometimes it takes 3 or 4 tries to bold an entire sentence. have a look, and tell me why this is happening, and never has before. -
I found that there’s a shortcut to stop the recording. Just press
Command + Control + Escwhen you’re done. -
Ok, that would’ve worked but, I just recorded in with my phone from my computer, you can now see BOTH of my issues Clearly have been added to my image gallery, and what is happening on my end. Please have a look and tell me why these things are happening (NEVER EVER DID BEFORE) and how I can fix them, thanks.

These are great examples. And that was a terrific outside-the-box idea to record them.
First, we want to thank you for your continued patience. It’s clear to us that you need this resolved. Our hope is it is equally clear to you that we want to help you resolve this asap.
Second, based on the examples you shared, which are indeed strange and downright frustrating, I do have one initial question that I need your help with.
Can you tell me if you occasionally copy text from elsewhere on the web or from other applications (such as Microsoft Word or other text editors) and paste that into your posts and pages – especially in the examples you are sharing with us?
Knowing this will be very helpful in our research on your issue.
-
Yes, I copy text from AOL mail, and post it into the Editor, I have always done it this way.
-
Oh and Yes, It is Originally written in Microsoft Word, then saved in an Email on AOL, for later posting in the Editor.
-
Thanks for the additional info, this seems relevant. It’s not uncommon for there to be issues with pasting from Word actually, enough so that we dedicated a support page to the subject here: https://wordpress.com/support/microsoft-word/
I’m not sure that is the issue here though. If I’m not mistaken you have the issue on your “what is going on here?” post (draft here) as well, yes? It seems to me this is not text you wrote in Word and then emailed to yourself though, you just typed it into the WordPress editor directly?
I looked at your videos closely, and they were definitely the missing piece, it really helped to see what you are doing, so than you again for those. Regarding how you are highlighting text, I noticed that move your cursor from one end of the text to the other, and then off to the left a bit further as you finish off, kind of up and to the left. When I do that, I seem to have an issue similar to yours. See the following video:
This is a bug, so now that I can see it for myself, I will report it to our engineers. I know it took a while to get here, and was frustrating at time, but we appreciate your perseverance here, it’s a huge help!
I”m not sure in what timeframe that would be fixed, so in the meantime I can suggest a workaround, and that is to try to focus on only selecting the text and not “running over” into the page area to the left with your cursor. Like in this video, you can see I’m careful to stop my cursor right at the last word I am highlighting:
In my video if I carefully select words I can bold them without issue. Does that work for you as well? I suspect the editor gets confused somehow when you highlight text and continue in to the white area, but if you stick to the text only it should allow you to proceed until we can address the behavior.
Hope this helps!

Hi again,
Regarding your issue with images not displaying correctly, your video was a big help here as well, so again thank you for that.
I don’t usually see the “inline image” option in the paragraph block used, and I suspect it’s intended for small images that you want to be inline with your text (i.e. a small icon the same size as the text) which would be a neat way to get custom bullet points for a list, for example.
The fact you are using such a large image (compared to a small icon anyway) is I think what may be causing issues here. That does not seem like a bug but I think the developers did not envision you would use this the way you are.
Instead, I would like to offer suggestion for how to approach this differently, and that is to add your image as a separate block – an image block – instead of adding the image inline with your text.
A picture is worth a thousand words (and a video worth many times that) so here is a recording so you can see how I might approach this by adding the image first within it’s own block.
If you give that method a try, does it allow you to add your image without issues? Thanks for the additional info!
