35 million people can get this to work. Aren’t you special?

PS how much is your budget for getting WordPress.com to shut down? I might be able to help you.

OP is talking about wp.com website. 35 million people do not use wp.com. The great majority use self hosted WP on other web hosts.

Having set up at least 50 self hosted WP sites with great success, my first experience of trying to help a wp.com user set up their site has been, well lets just say a real letdown. I have to concur with OP the support from wp.com (paid pro version) pales in comparison from that of a typical web hosted wp.org solution.

For example, I can see I fell in the same trap OP did. I thought I was sending a private email to Support, but my question landed on a public form. There is no mention of this during the UX. That’s just plain wrong. No way for you to edit your posts, which is wrong. For a company that has provided a first class product isn’t doing themselves any favors.

Actually, there are MORE than 35 million blogs here.

I’m happy to provide paid support for WordPress.com if you need it.

Seriously? Can’t you troll on 4chan or something? Oh, look over there! Someone’s hating on iPhones get ’em Toaster!

You pay for support for WP.org blogs…or your clients do. So why not pay for support of WP.com blogs?

If you want to communicate with staff, you can email them. If you think there should be a warning that what appears to be a private communication is a public forum post, I couldn’t agree more and have been saying so since this started, months ago. If people with paid upgrades are now being dumped in the forum, it explains a lot of why the forum is so noisy and useless.

BUT. It doesn’t change the fact that in the forum you’re talking to volunteers, and if you want to vent to staff, you’ll have to contact staff.

Support at wordpress dot com in case you can’t google it.

But only shrinks offer emotional support, and that starts at about $200 an hour as I understand it.
