'This slideshow requires JavaScript' (however scripting is enabled)?
-
Hi, I apologise in advance if I’m asking a silly question… But my blog no longer seems to load correctly onto my PC’s. It is fine on my iphone.
The slideshows are showing as a black bar and it says ‘This slideshow requires JavaScript’. Scripting is enabled on my computer. It also doesnt load pages like stats correctly, just showing text jumbled over the screen.
Any suggestions (in the most basic terms possible) to help my class of 4 and 5 year olds get back on their blogging feet? Thanks! The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Will you please post an active link starting with http:// to the page or post with this slideshow where you get an error message. If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.
Note: If you are using an IE9 browser in compatibility mode that makes it render as IE7 and IE7 is not supported. To disable see > http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html
If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com please do these four things:
1. Try clearing your browser’s cache:

2. Make sure that you have third-party cookies enabled: http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/
3. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.
4. Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/
If it’s still happening, let us know exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://www.whatbrowser.org/ and also post any error reports you get.

That is not a free hosted WordPress.COM blog and we do not provide support for it here at WordPress.COM. If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

The how do I get assistance from you? My guess is I am missing something very simple and MOST forums are counting in a recent problem with Jetpack which IS WordPressed based…any thoughts appreciated rather than just shooing me off…

is not a free hosted WordPress.COM blog. You must get support on the WordPress>ORG forums. The two are completely separate.
May I suggest looking for an answer to your question here first? http://jetpack.me/support/ If you do not find one then the Jetpack forum is at WordPress.org http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpack If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.org, click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post there.

Truly unfortunate. I run a technology and SSD website and get no less than 35-40 e-mails asking for help daily, many of which I can just send somewhere else. Each time I answer and assist, I think of exactly this type of mentality.
“Its the I have the answer or can help but they are not in the right place” mentality”.

@thessdreview
You are not in a position to comment on my mentality. Moreover if you are unaware of the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org then I hope you aren’t doling out advice re: either as that would indeed be unfortunate. Suck it up and post the correct support forum lest you be mistaken as a fool.
