"This website is offline"–how do I get it back online!

    Hi all,

I use my blog mainly as a static personal website, so I don’t visit it every day. Last week, I went to my site and was startled to discover an error message saying “This website is offline”, and sure enough I couldn’t get to anything but cached versions of the site. A few hours later, it was back to normal. I thought it might have just been a glitch somewhere, but I’ve been going back and checking it throughout this week and at least half of the time, it is “offline” and you can’t see any of the pages. (I have a screenshot of what it looks like when it is offline, if that would be helpful.)

I’m not really sure what is causing this–but I have a feeling it might be something very obvious that I am doing wrong! I would appreciate any insight into what might cause a wordpress.com site that doesn’t receive that much traffic to go offline when wordpress itself is up and running.

This is particularly distressing as it appears to turn on and off sporadically, and as I will be going on the job market soon the last thing I want is a site that fluctuates in and out of existence!

    Thanks very much.
