Thought I was creating a free site, then I think I changed my domain and now I’m confused

  Hello,

  I started creating a free blog with a subdomain, which is all I need at the moment, but then I think I changed the domain not knowing I was actually getting rid of my subdomain. Now I have the personal plan waiting in my cart but I can’t afford to pay the $60 right now and would rather start with free. I can’t figure out how to change the domain back to a subdomain. how do I handle this? Thanks!

  No problem, I’ll be happy to look at this with you. colerambles.wordpress.com is the only site listed in your account and it is using the Free plan. I can’t see any change of address so it looks like colerambles.wordpress.com is the subdomain you originally signed up for when the site was created.

  Registering a custom domain will hide the free address rather than remove it completely — the site would revert back to the free address if you registered a custom domain and cancelled it later on.

  Sure! You can continue using the Free plan, then upgrade to a paid plan with a custom domain whenever you are ready.
