"Threat" with an email subscription

  • Unknown's avatar

I have 4 subscribers to my blog. I posted today and an email automatically gets sent to my subscribers. One subscriber emailed me and said that my post poised a THREAT and she wouldn’t open the email.

Can anyone identify what the cause of this would be? This only happened to one subscriber. Not the others. Is it my blog or her computer mucking up?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It’s her computer. She’s probably got her email spam settings set so high all autoposted material sets off the alarm. She just needs to whitelist your blog’s emails.

Ok, thanks heaps. I’ll let her know. How does she do that?
This is my 70 year old mother we’re talking about. LOL!!! So I”ll need something easily explained to her.

Well, it depends on her email program.

Ok, I’ll just let her know. Maybe someone else can help her. She’s in another country, so I can’t really show her either. Also, she’s on a PC and I’m on a Mac. :L

If she’s using Gmail, it’s one procedure, if she’s using Outlook, it’s different.

I have Windows Mail and it sometimes false flags an email – sometimes it is one that I sent the the person just hit “reply” and sent it back with a few words – I have just resigned myself to getting a couple of big red messages “this email blocked because of a suspicious threat” My Anti-Virus has also been know to false flag also –

auxclass – thanks for that. I forwarded your message to my mother so she’ll know it’s a common error and one not to be “threatened” by. :D

You be welcome & good luck to your mother –

when a message gets flagged I look at the sender to see if it is someone or a company that I recognize – not foolproof as a couple of times friends got a virus that invaded their email program so caution is always in order – the chance however of WordPress.COM sending a virus is very low.
