Three questions about sidebars
-
My blog – http://politicalbooks.wordpress.com/
I’m using Andreas04Okay, here are the three questions:
(brief note, I do not have CSS upgrade, but I’m planning on getting it as long as I can figure this out :) )
1. Can i move the sidebar from the left side to the right and vary its width?
2. Can I have a different sidebar on different pages? Specifically, I’d like one sidebar for Posts and one sidebar for Pages.
3. Or, can I simply turn the sidebar off for certain pages? Say, leave sidebar on for Posts and off for Pages, at which point I can use HTML to add in what links I need.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

1 Yes, IF you learn CSS. If you just post “Hey, give me the code to do that” you’ll be screwed.
2 No.
3 No. You can use Kubrick or similar, that has the sidebar only on the main blog, but can’t separate it out that finely.

Thanks.
1. I figured this one out, yay for me. :)
2. Lame. On the editing page there’s a place to select “default template” but no other option. Is there any way to use different templates on pages than posts? -
2. If the theme has templates for pages, then they would be things like archive, blogroll, contact. In other words if you wanted a links page instead of a links widget, then you could make a links page and assign the links template and it would display your links in that page.
