Three questions re: Site Title and Left Side Bar

  1. I would like to post my gravatar at the top of my page, centered, with “Your PARTNER in the New Evangelization” beside it. I would also like to spruce up the font of this notice. Can you help?
  2. Along the left side bar, I would like to post icons of our partners rather than listing their names as they currently are, but I would like to keep them in a row just as the names are now. Help?
  3. I would also like to split-up this side bar, with a title for the first two “Affiliates” and a title for the remaining: “Principal Partners.” Can you help? Thanks so much! Tobias

  1: You could use this widget to add a Gravatar profile to your sidebar: http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/gravatar-profile-widget/
  2: The image widget is perfect for adding images/icons http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/image-widget/
  3: You could use an empty text widget for this, with only a title: http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/text-widget/

  Thanks for the answers. #2 and #3 were particularly helpful. For #1, I want to put my gravatar in the site title, not the sidebar. I’m also looking to put it in the center and spruce up the font. I’m sure this is a CSS question.

  For #2 and #3, I did what you recommended and it worked, but is there a way to split-up my menu? I would like to put a text widget above my menu, and another one in the middle, which splits it in two.

  For #1 it’s not possible to add additional content in the site title section. Alternatively you could edit an image with a picture/avatar and text you like and place that as a header on your blog: https://tnathe.wordpress.com/wp-admin/themes.php?page=custom-header

  There are no restrictions if you setup a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities. We have hosting recommendations at the following link if you are interested.

  For #2 and #3 by design the widget section starts after the menu, therefore it’s not possible to add any widgets above the menu. You might want to consider testing a different theme that better suits your needs: http://themes.wordpress.com
