three suggestions
-
Ok let’s start with the biggest one. I know I have been complaining about the global tags for a while. So why not do the following, have the posts point to the local category archives, and then have a link that says this category is listed in the global wordpress tags. Or maybe have that on the bottom of each post? For example, the footer would say something like this, This entry was posted in category. Click the link to this category’s global tag. Now that that’s out of the way these next two should go relatively quickly, first of all I think the archives wiget should be restructured so that a user won’t have pages with no links to them on there blog. I think what should be displayed on the home page of any blog in the archives wiget displays a list of years. Then when a user clicks on a year, they will see a list of months, and then a list of days that have posts on them for each month. When a day is clicked, the user will be presented with a list of posts on that day, from which they can sellect one. The third and final suggestion envolves exporting, when exporting, you should be able to sellect individual posts. When I exported wordpress thoughts earlier this week, I had to delete one post that I didn’t want in the export because I couldn’t just select the posts I wanted to export. What I am proposing is that the start date filter has at the very least a date of a post so that you can sellect that date. Then you could export posts from say December 15, 2010 to January 2, 2011 without having to delete any previous or next posts because all you could specify was the month.
