Thumbnail for Homepage
-
How do you make a thumbnail for your homepage? For example, if I go to share my blog homepage on social media, such as Facebook or Twitter, it will not include a thumbnail picture. I do not have this problem when sharing my About Me page or pages of my actual blogs–only the homepage.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Please read these tips http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/#images-in-publicize
We have no control over the images that Facebook or any other social network chooses to display or when they choose to flush their image caches. We really only send them the URL of the post, and they hunt through that for the excerpt and images to include.
For Facebook please see http://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug

Thank for the response. I looked through all of those links, but did not find anything to solve the issue. I am using the Spun theme. I have a “Header” image, but, for some reason, it isn’t being picked up to be used as the homepage thumbnail. One of the links said that, “If a post/page has no featured image or uploaded images, Facebook will display the Blavatar as the thumbnail.” I have a Blavatar set, but that isn’t being used as the thumbnail either. Do you know if maybe this theme simply doesn’t have the option to do a thumbnail for the home page? I do not have a problem getting one to show when sharing my About page or the pages for blog posts.

Hi there,
We’re sending Facebook your site’s Blavatar, but in the end we can’t control whether Facebook decides to use it.
You can check to see what information Facebook is using for your site by pasting the link to your site in Facebook’s debugger here:
https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug
If you don’t see the right image there, you can try clicking the “Fetch new scrape information” button. That asks Facebook to take another look at your site and update what it has saved — sometimes that gets Facebook to grab the right image and use it.
I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)
