thumbnail-images with the archives-resume of the entry?

hello, i have a blog where i document my art, so its very depending on images. i created categories to make it posibble to view the stuff depending on the used technique and now i was wonering if there is a way to get thumbnail images with the resumes of the entries that appear in the archives? maybe with css customization (i was thinking about getting it anyway)?

Could you describe exactly what you are trying to do so I can get my head around this?
You could create a page that has the thumbnail image of the art piece linking to the particular post you had on that art. Let me explain that more ;)
Say you create a page called ‘art archives’ and you have 3 techniques with 2 art pieces in each one. This would have the page with something like the following (requires you to upload image thumbnails first):
Technique 1 - <a href="http://agirlcalledadam.wordpress.com/articleURL1"><img src="http://agirlcalledadam.files.wordpress.com/thumbnail_image1.jpg"></a> Technique 2 - <a href="http://agirlcalledadam.wordpress.com/articleURL2"><img src="http://agirlcalledadam.files.wordpress.com/thumbnail_image2.jpg"></a> Technique 3 - <a href="http://agirlcalledadam.wordpress.com/articleURL3"><img src="http://agirlcalledadam.files.wordpress.com/thumbnail_image3.jpg"></a>Obviously you need the exact URL’s to put in, but that creates the title and then the thumbnail image linking to the article with such art. Is that what you mean?

hi trent, the editing you suggest is exacctly what i was hoping to avoid…
isn’t there a way to get this done automatically? maybe using flickr or something?

I’m probably doing it the hard way, and there may be a plugin out there, but what I do is add the thumb to the excerpt of each post. I know, very time consuming!

so, i found a way to get the images visible, though not as thumbs. there are some themes that show them (i’m using simpla right now), BUT: why doesn´t sandbox show them? or is there some kind of trik how to get them?
you think i should move to css customization with this tipe of questions? ;-)
