thumbnail on facebook share

  I’m trying to share my wordpress site on facebook but I cant get a thumbnail to appear – it simply appears with a blank space. I have been searching for an answer online and have tried a couple of things but I don’t really understand what I am doing! Help!

  Does anyone have any experience of this problem or more importantly a solution! I’m using ‘stay’ theme.

  When I post on the facebook wall of the page I manage for the business (so the website is listed on the page) then I get the option to ‘upload an image’ to the thumbnail. When I post as myself or on my own wall or another then I don’t get this option, it simply states that there is no thumbnail.

  Anyone?!!!

  Help please.

  I have read some of the posts that suggest this is a problem on the side of FB and I have read about a plugin that can help on a .org site but I’m really stuck about what I can do to solve this on my site. When a friend shared my page a thumbnail appeared – so why is it so random?

  Have you tried setting a Featured Image? Facebook should be pulling that image.

  Also note that once a page has been shared on Facebook, the images Facebook found on its first look are stored in a cache. If the images on the page are changed, Facebook doesn’t check until the cache expires.

  There’s a way to force Facebook to check again, which is to use the Debug tool mentioned above. Copy the link of the post and paste it into the blank of this page, then click the Debug tool:

  http://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug
